What is Acupuncture? Acupuncture is a collection of procedures involving penetration of the skin with different kinds of sterile, stainless steel needles to regulate the flow of blood circulation in the body. It is one of the oldest healing modalities in the world. Acupuncture works by regulating tissue planes to enhance circulation, blood and oxygen flow and restore the body's innate ability to heal. It helps to gently and consistently repair the nervous system to a proper tone.

What is gua sha? Gua sha is a very effective manual treatment technique, also called "spooning or scraping." We use a flat, thin piece of jade, stone, or ceramic to brush over the skin, allowing toxins, illness or pain holding-patterns to be released from the skin, fascial and muscle layer. This is a common home technique in asian households that is effective for a wide range of ailments.

Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging and help the whole body look and feel 5-10 years younger. This visit includes body and facial acupuncture plus facial gua sha, lymphatic drainage, jade rolling, and scalp massage.

Benefits:

Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging and help the whole body look and feel younger. It is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine, which involve tailoring treatment to each patient’s body constitution. In addition to enhancing appearance, Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture has the added benefit of improving overall health because cosmetic acupuncture links inner physical balance with outer beauty and radiance

Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture can make you look 5-10 years younger. It works by helping to eliminate fine lines and soften deeper lines. It can also help minimize dark circles, puffy eyes, double chin, sagging skin, and drooping eyelids.

BEFORE & AFTER

Cosmetic Acupuncture FAQ:

CAN I HAVE COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE IF I HAVE HAD BOTOX?
In most cases, it is acceptable to use cosmetic acupuncture to help maintain youthful-looking skin if you have had Botox injections.

WHY CHOOSE COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE OVER A FACE LIFT?
While not a replacement for surgery, Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is an excellent alternative. It is far less expensive than cosmetic surgery and is safe, virtually painless, and has no side effects or risk of disfigurement (slight bruising can occasionally occur). This is unlike surgery, which may have an extended recovery period with swelling and discoloration. There is no trauma from Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and if it does not suit you, it can be stopped with no ill effects.

WHAT IS THE COURSE OF TREATMENT?
The course of treatment is between 10-15 sessions.  Ideally, these should be done 1-2 times per week for best results.  Each individual will respond differently to the treatment, depending on their age and lifestyle. Visible results will be noticeable after 6 -7 sessions. Maintenance may be needed once every month.

WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE?
Some patients are not candidates for facial rejuvenation, including persons who are pregnant, have uncontrolled high blood pressure, frequent migraine headaches, bleeding disorders, and some pituitary disorders.

DOES IT REALLY WORK?
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture has been performed for thousands of years in China. As early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD), Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture techniques were performed on the Empress for facial revitalization as well as overall health and longevity. Since this time, the use of acupuncture for cosmetic purposes has gained popularity worldwide.

Recent scientific studies investigating Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture have shown this to be an effective and safe modality. Research has demonstrated that Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture to be an effective therapy with marked effects with one course of treatment. The effects included: improvement of the elasticity of facial muscles, increased moisture content, improved skin appearance, leveling of wrinkles, increased facial circulation, and overall rejuvenation not confined to face [1,2,3,4].
