Cythera Wilkerson, L.Ac., MAOM
Cythera’s interest in a healing field was a natural progression, coming from a family of medical practitioners, social workers, and counselors. She found herself called to the study of Classical Chinese Medicine because it beautifully maintains the art of medicine in an analytical way. This led to her study at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, North Carolina, where she recently completed her studies. Acupuncture dramatically changed the way she understood health and in particular, the knowledge that each of us has the ability to heal. Credentials Cythera received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Eckerd College in Florida before going on to work as a case manager with the Department of Children and Families. She served a year with AmeriCorps in Asheville before exploring options in the medical field. At this time, she discovered Daoist Traditions and spent the next four years pursuing her Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine, which she received in May of 2015. She spent four months after graduation involved in one of her favorite activities, traveling, to help her refine her next step. She has received her License of Acupuncture in the state of Kentucky and is very excited to become a practitioner at The Light Clinic. Teachers Cythera had the honor of studying under Jeffrey Yuen for the four years she was in school and looks forward to continuing this study. Yuen is an 88th generation Daoist Master from the Jade Purity Lineage, and keeps the classical approach to acupuncture and herbology alive through his teachings. |
