FENG SHUI
year of the yin water rabbit
Fengshui for this overall year:
Fengshui cures are to be placed on the Solar New Year, February 4th (but can be done anytime of the year; it's never too late!). The actual Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) was January 22nd this 2023 year. Each year there are 4-5 auspicious directions, and 4-5 inauspicious directions (the Center is counted as a direction in the Chinese system). Here are the directions for this year:
Auspicious 2023 directions: South, Southwest, Center, North and West with the South and East being the most auspicious areas this year. Hang out and active them the most!
Inauspicious 2023 directions: Northwest, East, Southeast and Northeast with additional negative energies in the West. Especially avoid renovation work in the Northwest and keep the Northwest, East and West quiet.
Grand Duke is in the East, Three Killings in the West, and Sui Po is in the West for 2023.
*Below are specifics for each direction, cures and enhancers as well as general lifestyle advice for each section. Often people don't have all the specific fengshui cures- one option is to buy them. Another is to get these fengshui cards from a woman we like on Etsy- they are just cards you place in each direction for the 2023 year (large cards that stay put for the whole year, and smaller ones that get moved every month). The link for that is here:
SOUTH
The South hosts the #8 earth wealth and prosperity star this year, creating the most auspicious and favorable area for the year! This is the most benevolent and auspicious star of them all, and is known to support investments, wealth and finances, as well as all around-prosperity in all aspects of your life. Enhancers: Money pot or money tree, citrine quartz, and representations of wealth are all favorable in the South this year. It's also a great area to hang out, or direction to face when you're working or doing yoga/sitting, etc. Earth and Fire activate and strengthen the #8 star, so pottery, yellow or red healing stones, as well as lights and candles will all be wonderful enhancers. Make sure the South stays bright and well-lit and keep it as tidy as possible. It is very beneficial to have your front door facing South this year! SOUTHWEST
#1 Victory Water Star, representing success, winning, life path and good reputation. Favorable if your office or front door are in this position. In 2023 the #1 water star conflicts with the annual energy, so metal and water cures are important for this area this year. Enhancers: Metal and water colors such as white, gray, silver, gold, copper, blue and black are all helpful for the SW this year. Use water and metal elements and avoid wood, fire and earth elements. A metal singing bowl helps enhance and protect the #1 star. For Chinese enhancers, a "happy" Buddha, bagua mirror is beneficial as well as a 3-legged money toad to promote wealth. Fu dogs are also an amazing cure and enhancer, bringing wealth and good protection. It is also beneficial to have your desk facing Southwest. Windows open and fresh air through this area is very helpful, as well as keeping the land and property open and clear! WEST
The West is an Auspicious direction this year with the #6 Celestial, Heavenly Energy Metal Star visiting. This star is beneficial for success and promotions. It represents a kind of authority based on hard work and perseverance. This is a great area for work success, but if your bedroom is located in this direction, the negative aspects of the energy such as loneliness, sadness, and sudden changes may affect you (blue bedsheets with help!). Focus on metal and earth elements The West also is afflicted with the Three Killings as well as Sui Po this year, so watch out for those clashing energies and place the proper fengshui cures. Enhancers: Display Auspicious Windchimes to activate this metal element ruled star. You can also place a bagua mirror in this area to enhance the metal element as well as enhancing finances. The Earth element will also activate this area, such as a small terracotta statue, ceramics, as well as yellow and earthtone colors or stones and crystals. A gem tree in this area may also enhance wealth as well as quartz stone. Blue and black are good in this area, but avoid fire and candles (which melts metal). As for the negative energies here in 2023 (called Three Killings and Sui Po/year breaker), one of the best things you can do is to keep the area quiet and undisturbed. A classical fengshui cure for this specific negative energy is the image of the Three Celestial Guardians (ideally a small sculpture made from metal) as well as a salt water cure. Also avoid sitting or using this area more than hours in a day. Click here to read about creating your own Chinese saltwater cure. EAST
This year, the #2 illness star visits the East. This relates to health problems (both physical and emotinal) as well as possible money loss. Cures: Metal fengshui cures help drain the Earth energy. These include metal singing bowls, metal objects or the Metal color white or gray, as well as the traditional fengshui cure of a Wu Lou gourd, metal Buddha, Medicine Buddha, or a Kuanyin sculpture. A saltwater cure and Wu Lou protection gourd area also helpful to negate the illness star. Six coins tied with a red ribbon also help. Avoid: Fire colors and objects, such as candles and the colors red and purple. Also avoid working in this area. Keep the area calm, avoid renovation and do not use this area of the house very often this year. Tai Sui/Grand Duke Cures: Jade and bloodstone. 2 Gold Lion Statues (Pi Yao/Pi Xiu) placed in the West of the home, facing the East, as well as a Tai Sui/Grand Duke card in the East. One of the best things you can do is to keep the area quiet and undisturbed and avoid renovations in this area. NORTHEAST
The #7 Betrayal Metal Star visits the Northeast this year. It represents aggression, robbery, betrayal and security risks. It is best to avoid this area as much as possible. Cures: The Water and Wood Element is a great cure this year, as well as specific fengshui cures such as the blue rhino, blue elephant, blue crystal ball, water feature, and the colors blue or black. A pair of Kylin statues in this direction will help negate negative energies and bring in good luck to your family. Plants in the NE will help drain the #7 metal star, as well as blue and green colors. A rice cure will also help- you can take a small blue or green container, put a few spoonfuls of rice in it and a small bloodstone on top. This will help safeguard you and your home as well as enhance all areas of your life! Avoid: Remove all Earth, Fire and Metal energy from this sector. No windchimes or candles in this sector |
