Credentials
Bert graduated from the Lexington Healing Arts Academy in 2020 and received his license from the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy. He currently lives in Frankfort with his sweet pets. He loves to visit family on the Hawai'ian islands and always comes home with a recharged spirit. It is his intention to convey healing and that “spirit of aloha” through his practice. He is honored and excited to learn, grow and practice with such an amazing group of healers at The Light Clinic. |
Bert Brown, LMT
Bert is native to the Hawaiian Islands, but was raised on a farm in Kentucky, where his mother is from. His father, who is native Samoan, introduced massage therapy to Bert at a young age. He helped aid multiple sports related injuries using massage and Ti leaf soaked in saltwater--a common healing method used in Polynesian culture. Bert was convinced that the Ti leaf had magical powers because his father's therapeutic method worked so well. Football would eventually lead Bert to Union College, where he studied Physical Therapy and Health & Nutrition. Bert's love for the land, instilled by both the island and farm cultures, led him to create a small business that started as landscape, and turned into just “helping how he could.” In true aloha spirit, the love was reciprocated. With the guidance and support of the community he had helped build, and the knowledge acquired from his education and personal therapeutic experiences, he gained clarity around his next steps in life. "Bert is an amazing massage therapist and healer. He knows exactly where to go to unlock the sore spots and how to help the body relax and release. I love that he also stretches the body in addition to rubbing the muscles- so I leave feeling relaxed, open and unstuck!" -EF, 2022 |
