Insurance Coverage and Payment Options
In regards to insurance, The Light Clinic accepts payment from Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), as well as Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) and Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) coverage insurance (when applicable).
For VA coverage, please consult your primary care provider at your VA hospital. A request must be initiated from your doctor. If you have questions on the process, please do not hesitate to call us and we will help as best we can.
For Motor Vehicle Accidents, Kentucky at this time is a no-fault state. If you are insured and have had an automobile accident within the last 2 years, your insurance's Personal Injury Protection (PIP) should cover Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, herbal treatment, CranioSacral Therapy, or Therapeutic Massage for treatment related to any injuries sustained in the accident. If you are interested in billing your auto insurance for such events, give us a call and we will help you get set up: 502.330.4233.
Otherwise, we operate as a 'cash-basis' clinic. We keep our rates as low as possible, while keeping the level of attention and care as high as possible. To do this, we ask for payment at the time of service. If you are interested in billing your own insurance, we will provide you with a detailed Superbill with all the codes you should need. We are always happy to provide any necessary supporting documentation as well. Superbills provide more flexibility and control for the patient and allow us to keep our overhead low (thereby keeping our rates low, too!). Check with your insurance provider to see if your plan covers acupuncture, as more and more are doing so in Kentucky.
We accept all credit and debit cards as well as cash or check.
Out of respect for other patients and the practitioners, if for any reason you need to cancel your appointment, we ask for 24-hour notice as it can become difficult to reschedule your spot with short notice. We reserve the right to charge the full price of the appointment for a no-show or a cancellation within a 12-hour window of the appointment time. These fees are necessary as they keep the clinic running and respect your time as well as the time of our practitioners.
