We all know meditation, right? Meditation is the grueling mind-battle where you have to sit completely still with your eyes closed and body numb for at least 30 minutes a day, right? NOT TRUE!!
All too often people tell me they can't meditate because their mind won't settle down or they can't sit on the floor or it's too boring or hard to be quiet. Well guess what? YOU CAN MEDITATE!
Meditation is not boring and it does not have to be quiet or still and your brain WILL settle down--I absolutely guarantee it. We just have to figure out what works for you. Simply put, meditation is the practice of calming the fluctuations of the mind. There is no one-size-fits-all way to do that. I have experience using all kinds of techniques including visualizations, sound, movement, vibration, somatic stimulation and much more. We can do sitting or standing or laying or moving. We can do meditations for your job, whether you are driving a car or sitting at a desk. We can do meditations for your home and family life.

Joseph Fiala, MSOM, L.Ac. grew up with a father who taught Buddhism and meditation. Joseph has over 20 years of meditation practice and he has utilized visualization practices for as long as he can remember. His own journey into formal meditation began around 16 years old, using breathing and centering techniques for running and sports performance. His journey eventually took him to living in a monastery in Bodh Gaya, India where he was blessed with the opportunity to take his vows and become a monk for a short period of time. After returning from India and graduating with a degree in Business Economics from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Joseph began a 4-year intensive study in Classical Chinese Medicine. Joseph excels at the physical and spiritual practices of Chinese medicine and loves to help bring a more holistic understanding of wellness into his patients' lives. He founded The Light Clinic with his wife, Emaline, in 2010 and they have helped thousands of patients over that time to reduce their stress and pierce through the confusion of chronic pain and illness to find solutions that work at the root. In addition to being an acupuncturist, herbalist and business owner, he is a practitioner of Taiji Quan, Qigong, Yoga and Jungian Dreamwork. He is also most honored to be a father. Joseph loves to be flexible and places great emphasis on finding what works best for each individual.
