Physical Therapy:
Established in the early 1920's to answer a call from post-World War II veterans, physical therapy (PT) may be "younger" than other Western and Eastern medicines, but the innovative and adaptive nature of the practice has allowed it to grow and change with our culture. PT is now considered an acceptable, mainstream method to address pain, restore mobility and function, and prevent disability. If you come for a PT visit at The Light Clinic (TLC), especially during a multi-practitioner day, you may agree it is outside of the traditional PT practice, and may not be so "mainstream" after all. Here at TLC, you will receive one-on-one, slow paced, hands on care during your PT evaluation and subsequent session(s). When you come to TLC, you will complete an evaluation to include a review of your medical history, an examination of your physical strength and mobility, education, and a home exercise program tailored to your needs. Everyone is different and therefore, so is their plan. The program, created for you, will offer you guidance on your health and wellness journey and will target limitations and impairments. Working together, we will develop a plan to lead you to a healthier, more active lifestyle. After all, the saying is true, "Physical therapy is something you do, not something you get."
